Southdale plans expansion in north west

Southdale is bucking the trend within the turbulent construction sector, by today announcing its ambitious expansion plans in the North West through confirming that it is set to double turnover in the region to over £30 million within the next six months and open its first ever office in the region.

The company, which specialises in the social and residential housing and public build arena, is currently building £16 million worth of schemes across the region in areas such as Manchester, Bolton, Lytham and Rochdale.

With headquarters in Halifax, the firm is set to open its first ever North West office in Warrington next month. The office will house 20 staff headed-up by a regional director which Southdale is currently looking to recruit to manage its operations across the region.

The growth of the business in the region, primarily within affordable housing sector, is buoyed by the completion of phase two of its £10 million flagship scheme in Lytham. Southdale is transforming the Heyhouse estate on the Fylde coast through the creation of 111 new houses, bungalows and apartments by early September, on behalf of New Fylde Housing and Fylde Borough Council.

Paul Moore, managing director for Southdale, commented: “The last 12 months have proved to be an exciting growth period for Southdale in the North West and we’re keen to build on this success.

“Despite the difficulties within the construction sector over the last two years, we’re delighted to have a forward order book of over £30 million worth of new schemes in the pipeline that will lead to the creation of hundreds of new jobs across the region.”
