Independent planning consultancy DPP has acted for Primesite Properties Pencoed Ltd and secured planning permission for two new retail units on the site of the Old Kings Head public house on Coychurch Road in Pencoed.
On 29 July Members of Bridgend County Borough Council voted unanimously to grant full planning permission for the demolition of the pub and the construction of two retail units with a total floor space of 468sq m in Pencoed.
Daniel James, a planner in the Cardiff office of DPP said: “The Old Kings Head has been vacant for more than six months and was in a very poor state of repair following vandalism and a recent fire. We are delighted with this decision.”
William David, Director at Primesite Properties Pencoed, adds: “The redevelopment of the Old Kings Head site will enhance the appearance of the area. It will assist in promoting crime prevention and help reduce anti-social behaviour. This decision is good for everyone.” |
