The University of Salford’s North West Construction Awards are now open for entries as, for the sixth year, businesses around the region are invited to showcase and promote the achievements of the sector.

Organised by Salford’s Centre for Construction Innovation, there are 11 categories which reward both large and small businesses. A wide variety of disciplines are covered - from designers and engineers, to contractors and consultants.

Last year the awards recognised projects from across the region, with over 100 nominations.

Winners included MediaCityUK and the Workington Temporary River Crossing which was commissioned following devastating floods in the previous winter.

This year, judges are looking for a similar range. Roy Stewart, Director at the Centre for Construction Innovation, said: “These are troubling times for the industry, but that makes it all the more important to celebrate success and instances where the North West is leading the way.

“The categories cover a huge range of projects, organisations and individuals and the entrants can gain excellent profile through winning.”
