Local people in Ashford, Kent are enjoying enhanced shopping facilities and a new cricket club as ISG hands over £5.2m Tesco store.

The scheme was carried out over a 25-week programme and included a 20, 000 ft2 extension, the construction of a new checkout area, a ground and mezzanine floor extension with Costa Coffee concession, and the creation of new retail space.

Local people were given an added bonus - after the local cricket club was broken into ISG assisted in it's restoration.

The scheme is the latest in a succession of Tesco projects for ISG.

Andy Demetriou, ISG's operations director of UK Retail, commented: "As a contractor we represent both our own company and our client's brand throughout our time on site and we work hard to preserve and enhance the reputation of both. The theft of the cricket club was a dreadful blow to the community and we were only too happy to provide whatever resources we could to help the club get back to normal."
